04.09.10 | Toseland charges to the front row in Germany

James Toseland powered his Sterilgarda Yamaha to a sensational front row starting position at Germanys Nurburgring circuit today. The double World Superbike Champion will start both races of Round 11 from 3rd on the grid.

Having not ridden around the demanding circuit for some 11 years since competing in the Supersport Championship, the BKS supported rider quickly managed to get to grips with the track and progress his way up the timesheets. He guaranteed himself a place in the top eight for the final Superpole phase having gone 4th fastest in Superpole 1 and 7th fastest in Superpole 2. In the final shoot-out James left it to the dying moments of the 10 minute session to post his fastest time of the weekend so far, a 1:54.909. He went on to complete one more flying lap, posting the fastest Sector 1 time of the session, and a personal best Sector 2 time, but was unable to improve overall.

It took me a while to get used to the track but we continued pushing and it worked out great for us today.  A massive thank you to the Sterilgarda Yamaha team for doing such a great job. I look forward to the races tomorrow and hopefully repaying them with another couple of good results.

So sorry about this weekend. I couldn't believe what happened. You worked really hard for that third place start on the grid and you really deserved it. I am supporting you all the way. Good luck for the next round xx

Really sorry about this weekend I can't believe they moved you back to 8 unbelievable. You can clearly see the man walk out at the last minute after jt had lefted the pits.
