09.07.10 | Solid top ten for Toseland in opening day at Brno

James Toseland was straight on the pace during the opening day of Round 9 of the World Superbike Championship at Brno today. The two-time Champion took his Sterilgarda Yamaha to a best time of 2:00.451 to place him 9th fastest.

James, who is supported by BKS, had been as high as 2nd fastest in the earlier Free Practice Session, before going to 9th with a time of 2:00.99. Then in the afternoon midway through completing a total of 20 laps, the Doncaster-born rider improved on his previous best by over half a second to once again finish in 9th.

It's been a really positive day and we've finished the two sessions with a good race pace. I anticipate that tyre choice may be a particular problem, especially as it's forecast to be 35 degrees on Sunday for the races. But we'll continue to work hard tomorrow to put us in the best possible position to fight for some strong results.
