26.06.10 | Misano Qualifying Report

Sterilgarda Yamahas James Toseland will start tomorrows two World Superbike races in San Marino from the 4th row on the grid, after finishing 13th in qualifying today.

Doncaster-born James made it through to the second Superpole session being amongst the top 16 fastest riders in the field. During the second session the double World Champion posted a fastest time of 1'36.216 to take him to 13th. As only the top 8 fastest riders progress through to the final Superpole shoot-out, the BKS supported rider missed out on being able to go out again to better his time by just over a tenth of a second.

James Toseland:
Its been a tough Superpole session as far as position is concerned and also for the earlier qualifying. Ive been really concentrating on a good race pace and race set up and thats definitely not a problem. Unfortunately when we tried to go 0.3 or 0.4 of a second faster we struggled. Its so close but it means the difference between front row and fourth row and I just missed out. I know the pace is there for the race we just need to work hard now to make sure weve got a good setting to get past people and get up to the front.
